First Day at University

I have been placed in the beginner level intensive class. Great, wasted all 4 semester of Spanish in Soka. On the bright side, I am starting to enjoy Spanish and Spain in general. The place is just beautiful. I have not really taken any pictures yet because it has been raining like cats and dogs. I was only able to use my camera today.

My host mom is amazing. Her name is Mercedes and she is extremely friendly. The only that she is strict about is that we need to be punctual when it comes to lunch or dinner. Other than that, she is pretty chill about everything. She does not really care what time we get back, but she is always reminding us to be careful when we are in Madrid especially with my wallet, house keys and passport.

Even though Madrid is an expensive city to live in, nevertheless what is the use of being able to earn money but not able to spend it. I have not experience the night life in Madrid yet, hopefully in the near future.

Just only a short 3 days, I am in trouble with the Spanish law. While exploring Madrid with my roommate Ryan and my trusty Panasonic LX5, I was nearly hand cuffed and put into jail for taking a picture of two police guard guarding the Royal Palace. After taking their picture, I walked past them and wanted to a picture of the Palace in the front. The officer stopped and asked to see my pictures. I showed him and he told me to delete it in Spanish. I told him in Spanish, lo siento and before I could finish, he threatened to put me in cuffs and fine me 2000 Euros if I refused to delete the picture. I guess he assumed that I am sorry and I would not delete the picture. Hahahaha…

The ADVENTURE begins…..
